Here’s some of the design trends we’re loving this year
We are already well into 2024, and we think we will be seeing some emerging trends that we think will be big this year. We’re predicting that these trends will be a blend of innovation, sustainability, and a nod to the past. Here are some of the design choices and elements that we believe will define and elevate our living spaces for the remainder of this year.
Sustainable Chic:
As the world becomes increasingly eco-conscious, sustainable interior design is gaining prominence. Reclaimed and upcycled materials, energy-efficient appliances, and eco-friendly furniture are becoming staples in homes. The mantra is to create stylish spaces with a minimal environmental footprint, proving that sustainability and luxury can coexist. Through this, we will continue to see linen textiles, organic materials and even an increase in vintage finds.
Big and Bold Designs:
After years of minimalistic dominance, maximalism is making a big return. Bold patterns, vibrant colours, and eclectic decor choices are taking centre stage. The key is to express individuality and personality through a curated mix of textures, colours, and styles. The result is a rich, layered aesthetic that sparks creativity and visual interest.
Unique Tiles are everything.
Tying into the emergence of organic living and maximalism, this year we will be seeing tile choices of unconventional shapes, vibrant colours, and unexpected textures. We will embrace the extraordinary with terrazzo-inspired designs, and eco-friendly materials that not only elevate your space but also make a statement about your commitment to sustainable living.
Colour, colour, colour:
Tying into the other trends we mentioned, we believe that colour will play a big role in any space in 2024! We are starting to look towards bolder colours and patterns to bring life to the space. This compliments the maximalism trend, and says goodbye-for-now to the neutral spaces we’ve been loving until now. While neutral colours and spaces will always been in style, we do think that homeowners will be leaning into their creativity and boldness this year and using bolder colours in new ways.
While design trends often come and go, we believe that there is longevity in the intentional design choices you make based on current styles. Using upcoming trends as a template to better understand the trends can better help you create a space that remains up-to-date, but also timeless.
